Bar Agricole’s return to San Francisco is more than a reopening—it’s a meticulously crafted experience that celebrates the intersection of design, craft, and hospitality. At its new home at 1540 Mission Street, the bar’s identity is redefined through a minimalist yet warm design language that reflects its global approach to single-origin spirits and seasonal cuisine.
Led by owner Thad Vogler and architect Seth Boor of Boor Projects, the space was conceived with a strong emphasis on materiality, light, and spatial coherence. Every detail is intentional, but it’s the custom-designed lighting—designed and executed in close collaboration with Boor—that acts as the connective tissue of the experience.
Rather than merely serving a functional purpose, the lighting is integral to the architectural narrative. Conceived as a sculptural element, it enhances the spatial rhythm, highlights material textures, and supports the intimate scale of the tasting environment. The fixtures were designed specifically for this project, tailored to complement the architecture’s quiet strength and the bar’s ethos of restraint and authenticity.
Bringing this vision to life was a true collaboration, and we were thrilled to contribute to a project where design integrity was held to the highest standard.
